3. I Bough a Treadmill on January 1st 2004 and...
I used it a minimum of 30 minutes, 3 times a week all year, without exception!

I started out walking at 3.7 mph. Now I can run 4 miles in under 40 minutes.

I also bought 3 more motorcycles...
A 2001 Suzuki Savage (sold this one in September)
A 2001 Kawasaki Concours
A 1771 Triumph 650 Trophy
They are all running.

It was an excellent year.

9. Oooh, fun!
1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Donated money (rather than time/work) to political groups and candidates.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make those.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes, three close friends started families this year.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not yet, but there're a few days yet to go, and my favorite uncle is close, unfortunately. He's always been very inspiring to me, and cast a long shadow over my life. Mega-drag thing is he fell ill while on vacation in Florida, and that's where he's hospitalized, so I can't even fucking visit and have a chat with him.

5. What countries did you visit?
No other countries, but I visited Wisonsin and Louisiana for the first time this year.

6. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Miraculously, no.

7. What was the best thing you bought?
A Gibson Firebrand 335-S. (For the uninitiated, that's a very nice and somewhat rare guitar.)

8. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
b) thinner or fatter?
c) richer or poorer?
Sadder, fatter and poorer. Wow, drag.

9. Did you begin, continue, or end a relationship?
Ended one in January.

10. How many one-night stands did you have?
I kind of don't want to say - I slutted out bigtime after the January event cited above.

11. What was your favorite TV program?
Arrested Development, no question.

12. What was your favorite film of this year?
Tough call - maybe "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?"

13. What kept you sane?
*cough cough*

14. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Another tough call. Theresa Heinz-Kerry, probably - I'm a sucker for a curmudgeon.

15. Who was the best new person you met?
Not to be all a big sap, but definitely you and Hedges.

16. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
Discontent is the first step in the development of a man or a nation. (OK, that's the fortune cookie message taped to my computer monitor at work.)
