3. Which ones stay tied best? |
I use the flat ones and have to double knot them to make sure they don't come undone. Bugs me to no end.

4. Nylon and other plastic shoelaces |
Suck! They slip and come untied almost instantly after tying them.

Because I've got this pair that I bought new shoelaces for, and they come untied every hour, even if I'm sitting around.

7. Plastic fibers are shit for tying knots |
Natural fibers are much better, ask any sailor. By the way, the kind of knot you tie your shoe with is a slipped reef knot (with a double bow)

8. As a fiber freak, I concur... |
Flat laces that are non- nylon are best...make sure they're long enough and double tying can't hurt!
