I just sanded my legs. Ask me anything! |
|
I got my package from Mombob today. No wingnut books or mags - just a bunch of candy in various cutesy bags, twenty-five bucks, and this Conair hair removal system thingy that's like a disc sander. I tried it on my legs. Smooth! It's a bit irritating, but no more than shaving. I like it, I think.

and no, I didn't try it anywhere else. I don't think it would be good for pits or other places.

It does make dust, though - like sanding wood.

10. Off topic, but how do those hair removal things --- um, the closest |
|
I can think of to describe them, is that they look like potato peelers--cheese slicers--or something to scrub calluses off your feet, work? I have no idea why, since I'm a male and don't shave my legs or anything, but for some reason, whenever I see them in the stores, I wonder if they really work.

14. I don't know about the ones that look like cheese graters |
|
but the ones with a coarse gritty surface and certain kinds of pumice stones work well. You can also use those giant acrylic nail shapers.

16. more like cheese slicers, on a handle (the cheese slicers with the |
|
wire) ... I guess they use electricity or something.

12. I once got a belt sander caught in my shirt tail |
|
sucked up my shirt and sanded my belly. The worst part was I had to have the homeowner where I was working help me back my stomach out of the sander. I was not seriously hurt. I bandaged up the abrasion and went back to work a couple of hours later.

Gosh, I hope Mombob got a deal. I was thinking more like $19.99-$24.99, blow dryer pricing. She got me some extra discs, too, even though the thing came with five.

23. It looks pretty cool. |

When I shave my legs, I get the little red bumps easily (sensitive skin I guess)--I bet one of these would keep that from happening.
I didn't even know these things existed!

No bumps here. My legs were pretty itchy for a few minutes, and I was wondering if I was going to regret it, but now they just feel ... sanded. I like it and plan to do it again.

Maybe you have to have a certain kind of hair. Mine seems to be highly sandable.

I get serious man-style whiskers that nothing but shaving has ever removed - although I haven't tried waxing. I just know that would suck.

31. I just read some of the customer reviews on that page and |
|
most of them were highly negative. The thing is also expensive. I hope it works out for you, neebob. I know, shaving is such a pain, but I don't think I'll try this product.

I'm surprised my mom bought it. I wouldn't just buy it without trying it first and knowing it would work. I didn't expect it to work and was surprised that it did.
