Poll question: Ugh. I hate video restoration.
I'm archiving my "Time Meddler" Dr Who story. I cleaned up the video and kept the original audio as tests didn't show any viability and then compressed it all.

However, I tried a new tweak and could get some improvement out of the audio.

Processing takes 50 hours.

Should I redo the process?

1. Did you get my PM last week?
I thought I sent you one. Anyway... Knowing me I wouldn't do another 50 hours. I would let it go as is and move on to more restoration.

2. Good point, and...
I've another stories in the can ("Revelation of the Daleks" with the ORIGINAL audio soundtrack restored...) that I want to get on DVD so I can free up my hard drive to get War of the Worlds (1989, Paramount) and Get Smart (1995, FOX) archived. I hate tape degredation. (to to mention cleaning up Battlefield and The Mark of the Rani)

PM me again. I can tell you some of the secrets of cleanup... :-) Be warned, all the stuff I used is PC-based... :D

3. I use a PC also
I keep trying to warn people of tape degradation of their home tapes. I am trying to stir up some business to make a few extra bucks and I think I have some lined up.
I'll PM ya about that stuff. I have a lot of programs also, but was just curious on anything you have found that might be worth trying out. Thanks.

4. What programs do youse guys use?
I've been messing around with Sony Vegas Movie Studio+DVD and SoundForge for audio and like them fine as they are reasonably priced alternatives to the "real" stuff I wanted. What else is good out there? Oh, and affordable. :D
