1. Never EVER take your tree down 'til New Year's Day |
|
It's a superstition my mom passed down. Real drag this year, 'cause my tree has been dead for days and every time I pass by it it drops needles. All it is is bare branches now.
I'm considering chancing fate...

3. We took ours down yesterday. |
|
Not enough room for my son to play with his new toys, so the tree had to go a little early this year.

4. Mine stays up until New Year's. |
|
After all, the holidays aren't over until New Year's Day. Plus, I like the blinking lights.

5. We usually keep it until the 'Old' New Year |
|
It's a Russian thing....we used to have a New Year's tree, not a Christmas Tree, but now we have it for Christmas, New Year, Russian Christmas (Jan. 6/7) and Russian 'Old' New Year.
'Old' New Year is on January 13th, and is a fun holiday in Russia. You don't get time off work, but it's a tradition. Back in early 1900's I believe, the way the calendar was, New Year fell on what today is Januray 13th, so to this day we still celebrate it.

6. Last year, mine was up till March |
|
Too totally lazy to take it down. The outside lights stayed up until Spring. (Except for the strings attached to the evestrough. They stayed up all year - so I was early with lights THIS year).
Can't help it - I'm really lazy when it comes to de-Christmasing the house.

8. Haven't had one in 5 years - b/c of psycho kitty |
|
Small, fragile tree with handmade glass ornaments is NOT compatible with angry kitty who regularly trashes house.
