2. It still fun when you are legal, until they drag you into detox

But when you get out you can shoot heroin that is illegal at all ages--quite a democratizer among its habitués.

3. What are you? Drunk?
The only time its no fun to drink is when you're dead. Maybe you should check your friends pulse rate.

4. After a little while the novelty wears off
I still find it amusing to moderately consume alcohol, but drinking to excess doesn't do anything for me except give me a hang over. I used to never get hangovers when I was late teens, early twenties. I guess I was in better shape back then or something.

7. Depends on how and why you drink
Having been legal for many many years now, I've learned a higher appreciation for fine wines and liquors. I don't drink just to drink, now I drink to enjoy the taste of the wine or the blend of the cocktail. Course, that's just me....:-)

9. Heck, no.
In fact, it gets MORE fun. You can order whatever you want with dinner in a restaurant, you can sit at the bar before being seated. You can ask for things like martini, margarita, scotch on the rocks, tequila shots, gin and tonic, and so on without the fear of being carded. You can partake of "happy hour" and ask about the draft specials. You can buy a bottle of wine with your grocereies. It's fun getting to know the world of liquor once you're old enough to be able to start learning an appeciation for drinking. Don't be afraid to try new things and enjoy the variety, there's so much out there.

12. When you can drink legally, you don't have to drink to be daring

and parties are no longer just a place to get shitfaced. You're no longer willing to drink just anything alcoholic because you can legally buy stuff that tastes good and you no longer have to finish off what you buy that night.

We'd probably not have the binge drinking going on now if the drinking age were lowered to 16, as in Europe. And if we raised the driving age to 18 (also a European thing), we could cut teenage DUI accidents, too. We've made things worse by prohibiting kids from drinking, probably causing a great deal more alcoholism.
