I'm just going to say it: Family Guy is funnier than The Simpsons |
|
I was watching Family Guy last night and laughed my ass off, we're talking out loud, tears in your eyes, visceral laughter. I can't remember the last time I laughed like that at The Simpsons.

1. Compare the two shows season to season |
|
That is, compare season 3 of both shows and tell me Family Guy is funnier. IMO they're about equal, but as a whole The Simpsons has been a funnier series. Although Family Guy has easily been funnier than the past 4 seasons of The Simpsons.

used to be great.
Now it's so so. It's better than most of the stuff on TV, but at the moment I must agree - the Family Guy has overtaken the Simpsons.
Is it just me or does the dad look like Michael Moore?

5. Comparing the Simpsons to Family Guy... |
|
Is like comparing Voltaire to the Hitchhiker's Guide. One is intelligent, satiric, and funny at the same time. The other is just amusing and entertaining.
Not that there's wrong with either of those, I laugh my ass off to Family Guy on a regular basis. But the early Simpsons episodes were not meant to just be a string of one-liners while Family Guy really is. There was much more to it than how much you laughed. The Simpsons really started to go downhill when they stopped doing that and started trying to be more like Family Guy. They lost what made them unique in the first place.
But I challenge you to watch the Movementarians' episode of The Simpsons and not laugh your ass off.
