If your boyfriend/girlfriend cried when you gave them a gift...

...would you assume this meant they loved you?

21. Oh, probably something like,
"If I can just squeeze these tears out, I'm gonna get into her pants!" :)

22. I don't know

He was trying hard NOT to cry, I think. It was pretty pure, IMO.

But I appreciate your perspective. Love destroys bitter logic, I admit.

23. Well, bitterness destroys belief in love too, dear.
I hope my cynicism is unwarranted in this case. But I do hope you read the book I suggested below. It really did change my life.

7. Maybe. Depends on the person. Some people are just
emotional during holidays. Some people just get emotional when they get a really great gift that they don't normally get. And of course some people just get really upset when the gift is very bad.

If it's an engagement ring, and she cries...yes, she loves you. If it's a lint brush, and she cries....it's a bad gift.

What's the scoop? What was the gift? How long have you been going out with him/her?

13. It was a teapot, and a little Buddha statue,

and a card with a quote (inscribed by yours truly) from the movie "Picnic" inside: "You're mine, baby. I gotta claim what's mine, or else I ain't got nothin' in this world..." along with a love note...

We've been together over 4 months now, and I'm desperately in love...

24. Awww... thanks

That's what I was hoping to hear. I think you're right.
The moment was too precious for anything but silence and a kiss.

Nothing like turning to strangers on a message board for answers...

31. He Could Just Be a Drama Queen
Rare, but I've seen it.

Don't worry about whether or not he loves you. Think about *how* he loves you.

8. No.
For whom or what are they crying, exactly? Are they simply easily moved to tears, or are they overwhelmed that they have been acknowledged?

9. Good question...

He is a crier, though I've never seen more than wet eyes at a movie, before from him, and these were crocodile tears.

I don't know. I think he loves me. I'm afraid to ask, though.

And of course, all that Hot! Lesbian! Action! would be wasted on just us...we'd have to let GOPisEvil watch or something... ;-)
