Who's the funkiest person you've ever known?
I once ran into Eddie Kendricks and the Detroit Metro Airport

1. There was this hippie guy in college who never showered.
His pants were as funky as I've ever known.

3. I partied with some of the P-Funk All Stars in the mid-90's once
No one super famous, like George or Bootsy, I honestly don't remember their names. It was thenight after a show we went to in Detroit. Don't remember much of the night, except it started because the friend I was with is a total hottie and we had some shrooms and they wanted some and someone knew someone who knew us...anyway, hotel room party, bay-bay. Fun for all!

Free your mind and your ass will follow
The kingdom of heaven is within

Freedom is free of the need to be free"

4. James Brown?
Well, I don't know him, but running into someone at an airport doesn't make him your buddy, neither. :P

I worked with a realllly funky guy once. Never showered. It was hell.

8. Do Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambura count?
I knew them in the local bar scene where I grew up - they both grew up about 5 miles from my home. Do they count - I don't know if I would call them funky - maybe assholes. :)

9. Peter Tosh
I met him at a party in 1979. He was definitely the coolest person I've ever met. I'm a pretty boring person, but even if I weren't, Peter Tosh would be cool.

11. Based on the Original Meaning of "Funky"...
...meaning "something that was so dirty it smelled bad", I would have to say the homeless man back in Morristown, NJ in the Early '90s who was thrown out of the library because of the smell. He sued the library claiming they were violating his rights, and a judge ruled in HIS favor!

After that, I saw him from time to time walking down South Street, one of the main thorofares in Morristown. People passing by in cars would yell things at him - things like "Get a life!" and "Take a bath!"

13. Where exactly was he supposed to take a bath?
He was homeless for Gawd's sake. People don't understand that being homeless doesn't necessarily equate to being lazy.

Sorry, my mom was schizophrenic and got thrown out of a crappy rooming house because of that. Because of her illness she couldn't find a job, and due to lack of employment, she couldn't find a place to live. She was homeless for quite a while, 'til we finally found her a halfway house that allowed her in.

14. If I Remember Correctly....
...he was awarded $150,000 as a result of the lawsuit. He moved in to a local hotel, and continued not to bathe.

15. I stand corrected - he WAS funky!
Sorry, touchy subject for me, I tend to overreact even though I try not to.

Besides, this was a fun thread and I should have left it alone.
