10. Actually not
I've been unglued for longer and longer periods of time, but work is really slow right now. I'll have a full plate when the new year starts.

And when I get home, who wants to do DU when you can do a DUer? :P

8. The internet sucks you in..
Especially when you find a great place full of the type of like minded people that you dont associate with on a day to day basis. I often get to the point where I realize Im only reading about other people's lives and not really living and take a 3-12 week online hiatus. I find that after being away awhile I dont become so much of an internet junkie until some major news breaks.

In anycase, Im strongly in favor of getting out and living your life. I havent see the stars because of all this light pollution in months. I hate living in an urban area. Something about having so many people around makes you feel even more alone. Weird how that works, isnt it?

12. It matters what you get when you walk out your door.
It also is defined by what you consider "having a life" is.

I personally live within 4 blocks of about 20 bars, 3 play houses, and 12 galleries, but yet I finished "Hitman 2" on the x-box instead.

17. Cold Turkey
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 06:47 PM by Tinoire
Really I swear. Worked for 6 months for me. But warning... do not think you're cured after a few months and can lurk. Lurking is verboten once you've broken the habit

If what you're lacking is the incentive to go cold turkey, spend a week in I/P ;)

Temperature's rising,
Fever is high,
Can't see no future,
Can't see no sky.

(snip)

My eyes are wide open,
Can't get to sleep,
(snip)

(snip)

Thirty-six hours,
Rolling in pain,
Praying to someone,
Free me again.

Oh I'll be a good boy,
Please make me well,
I promise you anything,
Get me out of this hell.

Cold turkey has got me on the run.
Oh-, oh-, oh--, oh...

Lennon

41. Lol! Same here
Thanks Redqueen! It's people like you who lured me back...

that loud sucking sound Perot talked about during his campaign, that was the sound of people like you dragging me back ;)

I almost posted in your other thread here... the one about "too many people being assholes" but then I thought the better of it. Wouldn't want anyone to think I had any particular reason for being attracted to that title ;)

40. I enjoyed the weather
Especially walking out on Navy Pier in 5 degree temperatures. Those sunny and arctic cold days were always my favorite back when I lived there. I've spent too much time in L.A., Hawaii, and Texas not to enjoy really cold weather when I can get it. (Though I must admit to enjoying it even before I moved away.)

Not enough snow in Chicago, though. San Antonio almost got a blizzard while I was gone (areas by the Texas coast got up to 12 inches!), and I would have been kicking myself for a long time if I had missed a blizzard in San Antonio.

I do have some semi-cool pictures, but don't know when I may get a chance to post a few. Hopefully fairly soon.

So my family kept saying: "You've got to go see the beam." And I had no clue what they were talking about. If I had known they were actually saying "You've got to go see the bean," I suspect that wouldn't have helped much. But I did see it.

The place is sure changing. Seeing the area south and west of the loop turn residential is a trip. My memories are too colored by what everything was like in 1990.

:hi:

Peter
