Band starts Music for Relief fund with $100,000 donation.

Awed, humbled and shocked by the destruction caused by the tsunamis that hammered southern Asia earlier this week, Linkin Park have teamed up with the American Red Cross to establish Music for Relief, a charity dedicated to providing aid to victims of the tragedy.

Linkin Park have donated $100,000 to get things going, and they're hoping their fans and musical brethren will follow suit.

"As a band, we were in a position to help, but this needs to be a lot broader effort — both by our fans and by other musicians," Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson said. "If one of our fans can donate $10, then that's going to help, and the faster we can do it, the better.

That is fucking cool.

5. Incredibly Shitty Band, but a nice gesture
I will donate 100K to the movement if they agree to stop trying to play music.

16. Funny. By definition, if you think linkin park is good...
You have no musical taste at all. Like you said.

Just another "hard" boy band.

19. Linkin Park ....
is amongst the better electronic-pop-metal-rap bands around ....

I LOVE their 'shit' .... powerful vocals, dense chordal atmospherics, awesome key modulations and angular, asymmetrical developments ....

There IS no accounting for taste ....

Not mine ....

and not yours ....

Linkin Park rocks .... and I'm 48 years old ....

11. The Spree rules!
Seriously though, these days, we could all use some cheer up music! (not to mention, I almost managed to talk to some of the band members, when they played at Roskilde Festival 2003. I have access to off-limits areas, so I stood next to them while MTV did a small interview).

15. Well I'm just being snarky.
I'm not the music police, so whatever you like... hey... it's all good by me! I just saw them once and thought... WTF?! Not my cup of tea... but glad you enjoy them... makes for more jobs for music industry folks, and that's a good thing. :)
