Who's the most annoying Freeper-type in your family? |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-28-04 09:50 PM by mvd
Probably my Aunt Joyce, but amazingly she didn't get into it when I went to my cousin's wedding and reception. Even when I (on the side) showed another aunt some good Democratic materials. She is an Evangelical and quite outgoing at the same time. Her family update letter has a religious message from the White House Christmas card - not long ago I was getting the White House Christmas cards from the Clintons.

1. I have 2 freeper brothers, but we cannot talk |
|
about politics because we are all so opinionated. Come to think of it, we don't talk about much at all.

2. Believe it or not, I don't have any freepers in my family. |
|
Well, maybe if you count my second cousin who I only see at weddings and funerals. My father was a Ross Perot Republican, so I wouldn't even call him a Freeper. He's gone now, but my brother, my mother, most of my Aunts, and as far as I know about any of my cousins: they are all Democrats. I have a feeling there is one Aunt and Uncle who voted for Bush, mainly because they are a very church-going family, but they never tried to convince me out of being a Democrat, which they very well knew I was. So, I wouldn't call them freepers, either.
And this is not to say that my Dem family members don't constantly try my patience to the breaking point, but hey, that's family.
Happy Holidays!

4. I had some good luck getting Repukes in my family to.. |
|
vote Kerry. One of the two aunts I'm closest to is a registered Republican who voted for Kerry and doesn't like Bush. She didn't like Dean in the primaries but I won't complain since she did like Kerry. And her husband, my uncle, has really gone to his Democratic roots after making money in real estate and thinking it was fashionable to be less Democratic.

(uncle by marriage) he's mellowed as he's gotten older though. and having a jewish son-in-law has made him contain his anti-semitism.

5. No freepers in my family. |
|
My IL's are Republicans, but they are of the wealthy, corporate variety, not the redneck evangelical fundie variety. They would not be at home at Free Republic.

6. My big fat obnoxious Uncle Rich |
|
My dad's brother.
Has a college degree and is working at Arby's. Not that there's anything wrong with working at a fast food place but he's been switching off between various FF places for as long as I could rememeber.
McDonald's, B-King, you name it.
But his wacko wife has sued several people in the last 15 years. Her last settlement was for 2.2 million.
He's just a big jerk, who really knows nothing at all.
