Anyone use PGP email encryption? I'm having a problem.
I've installed - twice now - the PGP freeware to read an encrypted email that's been sent to me, but it's not accepting my passphrase and doesn't recognize my email address. Even though, according to the icon in my tray, everything's okey dokey.

Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? (Because it HAS to be me.)

1. Did you install the key from the person who's email you are trying to read
?

3. Short answer, I don't know.

Here's the thing: there's a URL in the email, and when I open that up it prompts me to key in my passphrase, which it doesn't accept. It doesn't even recognize my email. But the software is there, and when I open it up it shows my correct address.

There was nothing in the email that I can ID as a key to be installed.

I'm pretty hopeless with this cloak and - well, let's just hope it's cloak stuff.

4. Okay...
So the deal with pgp is that normally you have to have some kind of public or shared key to get to the point where you have to use a password.

If it's a link, it just doesnt sound like pgp.

Did you download PGPi? http://www.pgpi.org/products/pgp/

6. I downloaded PGP8
And there's nothing encrypted looking about the body of the email. Just contact info and a message to "note the pgp info below," which is a url that includes "keys.pgpstore" and on that page I see PGP Universal login, and a box for PGP universal web messenger, and the request to enter my passphrase to see the message.

Thanks for your help, by the way!
