Why is it the bands that most people listen to seem so obscure to me? Is
it because I've attained full old man fuddy duddy-hood? I'm not down with the happening music of today?

Have I become the ornery old coot that I always loathed?

6. When I see people posting the music they listen to, I usually have never
even heard of 2/3 of the bands. Not only that, the big danger sign is that many or most of the band names don't even sound cool or ironically hip or anything, they just sound stupid or pretentious to me. The danger sign that I have attained fuddyduddyhood.

5. I have the same problem with mainstream stuff.
I hear people talk about John Mayer and Ryan Cabrera and Kanye West and I have NO freekin' clue who they are or what hit songs they've had.

But mention Ix-Ex-Splue or The Incapacitants or Wingtip Sloat to me, and I can converse for hours.

Weird, huh?

7. Yup, that's it. Don't worry, I'm in the same boat. :)
Actually, I've always been a fuddy duddy where music is concerned. When I was a teenager in the late seventies, I was almost exclusively into sixties music.

Now that I'm older, I find myself getting more into fifties Rock'n Roll.

I'm totally clueless about most music from about the last twenty years.

Nothin' wrong with being an ornery old coot IMHO.

8. Well don't rock the boat
and we will be boats against the current 'til the end.
I say revel in your geezerhood. They should listen to my music just as much as I should listen to them. They are mostly having this stuff forced on them by the music industry anyway. As for remakes, as SNL said about a movie remake - "this would be good for people who liked the original but wished it could be really bad."

10. Hey, I'm such a fuddy duddy that
I will only watch SNL with the original cast from the 1970s, so I don't even know what you're talking about. How's that for geezerhood?:D
