5. Mine too,
I really liked him. His cancer must have been really advanced when they found it, because prostate is usually curable.

7. When they made it public that he had prostate cancer
They said that they expected him to be fine. He was supposed to be in yet another L&O Show...the retired Lenny doing PI work or whatever.

31. They only announced it earlier this month.
He's still going to be in a few episodes of "Trial by Jury" starting in March.

6. That's horrible
My wife, for a time, was a big L&O fan. That probably explains why he left the show last year.

11. Born to play a TV detective-great actor
He and Dennis Franz both look so much the part (Franz origially on "Hill Street Blues") that it was very easy to actually see them doing that.

I was never a big Law and Order fan(too dark and too slow) but Orbach was an outstanding actor.

Law & Order has always been one of my favorite shows, and Jerry was just fabulous in it.

I'll also remember him from "Beauty and the Beast".

21. I loved him as the dad in "Dirty Dancing."
Yeah, yeah, it was a cheesy movie. I like it anyway, and he was great as Baby's father.

He was also the voice of Lumiere in "Beauty And The Beast."

He's been shooting a new law and order with my best friend. I always thought he was so great. Very sad.

EDIT: Not sur if he actually was able to do any shooting, or was just slated to. I'm gonna call and find out.

awww, man, not Jerry! What a magnificent talent!

I was already planning on watching some of the Sunday L&O marathon on TNT, but now I will be watching ALL of it. See if there's any kind of tribute or anything.

All the best wishes to his family and his loved ones. And many prayers & thanks to him for so many years of giving his talent to us for enjoyment. You always hear that he was a kind and decent man. Thank you, Jerry! O8)

One of my favorite actors. Not just because of Law & Order, but roles in off-the-wall small budgest capers like "FX".

One of the good guys.
