5. Mmmmmm
Here is my version:

In a small skillet fry half an onion sliced in butter and olive oil, slowly until very brown /carmelized. Add sliced mushrooms after the onion has cooked.

In a separate larger skillet, heat olive oil over mod-high heat. Dust 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs with flour and black pepper. Fry these coated thighs about 5 minutes on each side. Remove chicken. Add minced garlic to the pan then promptly deglaze with marsala wine. Scrape up any brown stuff that is sticking to the pan. When the wine reduces add butter, stir.

PLate the chicken thighs. Cover with the onions and mushrooms then pour the pan sauce over all. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Great with angel hair pasta on the side (sauce that too).
