Who else is throwing a New Years party at their place?
I am. This is my second annual. I used to just like to sit home every year and last year I said I wasn't doing anything. A few people said they had nothing to do also and I said that maybe I will have a few people over. Then it seemed the interest died so I was going to cancel it. The drummer in my band called and said "Who cares if it is just us...we could set up and jam". So I decided to have it and called some other people and said if they want to stop by they are more than welcome.
About 15 people showed up and we had a great time. Everyone who was there said they had the best time they have had in years. So this year I am doing it again. Anyone else going to have one? Or do you have them every year?

1. I'd love to!
Last time we threw a NYE party was in '98. We had just bought our first house together, and we had an open house for friends and family. It was a blast. My dad brought all the champagne leftover from our wedding in '97 and we drank it all. :)

We wanted to start doing something like that every year, but in '99 we had a three-day old baby, and by NYE 2000 we had moved away. I'd like to get back to Minnesota and try re-starting the NYE open house tradition. We had planned to be in that first house a lot longer than two years.

3. I'll see how this one goes
If it is a drag then I'm done..lol. Actually, I have a lot of fun friends. They are all cooking stuff and bringing drinks. I have told them all that if they don't feel like driving they are more than welcome to find a place to sleep there as long as they don't take my bed. :)

4. Yikes..if I said "no smoking"..
...I don't think anyone would be there..lol. I think a few people I know don't smoke, but they HAVE to if they come to my house..it's the rules..lol. Kidding
I used to throw parties all the time, but not as much these days. I lived in this place once and the house was known for the parties. My buddy was working for the electric company and came by to use the facility one day. He got a call and was told "The supervisor lives on that street and she called here. She told me to tell you "Get the company truck out of that party house..now!".
When my roommate and I moved, a couple was moving in next door. They came up to us and told us they were sad to see us going because they have heard about the great parties and were looking forward to them. I told them to take the empty keg in the garage and use it to get a filled one and have a party in our memory..lol
Happy New Year :)

6. Why of course you are all invited
I don't think I could spring for the cab though, and my private jet is out for repairs (it has a bad thingie-ma-jig).

7. We make reservations at a nice hotel....
for $100. you get the party, a room and next day breakfast. We don't have to drink and drive. We used to have New Years parties, my house ended up trashed, and it was too expensive for food, drinks, etc. Our neighbor's always want a party as long as someone else in throwing it and footing the bill.

8. I told everyone that I wont have as much as last year
Everyone brought so much that I didn't really need to supply anything. They all even left a lot of it there. I had shrimp, sausage stuffed hot peppers, chicken wings, pizza and some booze. I made out. I hope to get some of the picken's this year also.
