Music Fans: The Cure vs. 311

I think this goes without saying...but give me your opinion on why one is better than the other...also if you could list some bands the cure influenced i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

4. well 311 did that remake

a friend and I were arguing...he claims the remake is better, i think hes a lunatic, and so then he starting saying 311 as a whole was better than the cure...i say he should never open his mouth about music again.

I'm not really that familiar with The Cures stuff, and so I didn't know that Love Song was a remake, but that does explain why I actually liked that song. :)

3. Don't even ask something like that. Just not right. 311 ruined "Love Song"

Well, not ruin....it's like I got drunk, sat around singing Love Song, recorded it, and tried to pretend it was somehow worth buying.

311...whoever writes their lyrics is nowhere NEAR Robert Smith. Not same world, plane, universe....all their lyrics are simplistic, forced rhymes, sometimes forgoing any sense at all...

I do like "Last Straw" though.
