DU men: what turns you on to a certain girl? |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 01:29 AM by pres2032
in other words, what makes you seek out a girl over others?
for me, her smile is key for garnering the initial inerest. Is she friendly or not. Of course, whether or not a connection is made. I had dinner with a girl i kinda liked and thought she liked me, but there was a lot of awkward silences and that ruined it. I also like girls who are kinda innocent and come from small towns (like i did). I'm quiet, but i like girls who are really outgoing and that brings me out too and we have good times. Of course political afflication is important, but not key (unless they are hardcore republican). Religion is hugely important, but if they're atheist but at least respect my beliefs, it could possibly work.
edit: maybe we can compare notes with the ladies' thread about us ;-)

2. With me, a woman's eyes are the first thing I see. |
|
Her smile and the way she looks at me is what gets me interested. How we talk and communicate with each other is key. Flirty looks, a devilish grin and eyes that make me want to lose myself in them gets my attention right now. I like women with that look of innocence that I can see. Not a sexual innocence but an open and giving outlook on life. There just has to be that certain something about her that makes me want more; a kind of chemistry that is either there or not.

Guys, we give you those goo-goo eyes because we're in heat. When you approach us the wrong way, the heat turns to ice and we move on. That's why Girls Rule.

4. I have no idea. It just happens |
|
If I could narrow it down to some characteristics I would, but it's just there or it isn't. Sexual attraction I can muster up in a wide variety of cases, but romantic interest is pretty rare for me.

5. I go for the "Science type" or one who is into science and/... |
|
..or Astronomy Etc. I like women who are intelligent but NOT cocky about it so that leaves out most Redneck females. A friendly demeanor is nice also with a small bit of wonderment thrown in.... Extra, EXTRA points for being a Jazz lover.

7. I like the sultry types. |
|
you know a woman that wipes her drool on the table cloth in a fancy resteraunt , a dame who can change the tires on her Hummer and isn't afraid to say that she too is attracted to Ann Coulter. My wife turns me on because she is so different imagine Angela Davis,Howdy Doody and Barbra Streisand with the mind of a merciless trial lawyer combined with a stand up comic......

That's the number one thing. If she appears to be a tough nut to crack with just a single glance, I'm immediately attracted. I think this explains why I don't have a single "type" that I'm attracted to and why I'm not particularly turned on by celebrities (completely open books, in my opinion).
This also makes for an even playing field when a conversation actually starts. If I feel like I've figured a person out too soon, then I tend to dominate conversations. There's really nothing sexier to me than a woman who can match my pace and rhythm (linguistically, of course).
And it's also a lot of fun to uncover another person's playful secrets, and boy do I have a few. (I better stop before I betray myself. Some mystery must remain.) :)

21. well, before I was married... |
|
Before I got married, I dated all types of women physically - tall, short, medium heights; slim to heavy builds; just about every race or mix of races; ages 18 or 19 to 5 years older than me; etc, etc.
However, the one thing they almost all had in common was that they were smart, strong-willed, at least fairly liberal politically, and were generally pretty outgoing.

Most definitely not her breasts.
Nope. It would be wrong to say it was her breasts that first turned me on to a girl.
Not her breasts. No way.

I'll be honest, physical attraction for me has always centered on the breasts. I don't know why I developed a fondness for boobs, but I did. I don't care so much about eyes, legs, hair color, butts, weight or many of the other popular physical traits, its really all about the breasts, at first site anyway.

Kindness. Brains. A conscience. Liberalness/progressiveness (that may be redundant after the first entries). Bravery. Sense of humor. Doggies. Kitties.
The beauty and the booty are second-tier concerns.

She has to be smart, and have a backbone. My brother-in-law's girlfriend is super-hot, but she's dumb as a box of rocks. She can't carry on any kind of conversation at all. I think they pretty much just screw all day long. My other female in-laws are complete dishrags who wait on their husbands hand and foot.
So, brains and a spine.
And big boobs.

35. chemistry. She can have things I love in a girl, like |
|
wit, too much education, freckles, or curly hair, but it's all about chemistry for me. The two girls I've spent the last 6 years with (not both at the same time, of course) would probably not make the cut if I just went by a checklist of what I like and don't like. They just lit up my life when I met them.
