7th Meets the boy king (long read) by MEEEE
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 02:28 AM by 7th_Sephiroth
In my travels i came once upon quite the odd Kingdom. This Kingdom, Tesux, it called itself, had its pirate of a king recently die over dinner, and his only son remaining in the kingdom, a boy, not more than 5 years of age, had recently taken to the throne. This young king had quite the temper and saw only destruction as the answer to his problems.

I came to this kingdoms gates as a traveling Philosopher. I was 17 years of age, but in my travels had seen enough for 100 lifetimes. After quite the argument with the guards, i was allowed past its gates, and proceeded to the local tavern to drink, exausted from my long walk in the deserts.

Tesux was quite the marvel of a city, as advanced as my own home kingdom, but the advancements seemed purely for military benefit, soldiers were positioned throughout the kingdom, all heavily armed.

It was not long before i noticed that the same two guards were everywhere i went. I looked twards thier direction a few times and they tried, quite unconvincingly to blend in with the rest of the crowd. Bars and merchants were numerous, but all seemed to be owned by the same five keepers.

I traveled to Tesux because i had heard it was quite advanced, the rumors were true, but so were the others, that Tesux was ruled by a horrible and backwards king, perverse in his greed for knowledge without sharing, and his greed for riches. i arrived in the kingdom 5 days after his death, but in time for the coronation of the boy king.

While wandering about the kingdom besides soldiers, i saw numerous tax collectors and homeless, who were battling with the soldiers. I later learned that according to the laws of the king before the last, that homelessness was a crime to be punished by death.

At the coronation, wich was mandatory to view by all those in the kingdom i noticed the king to be was a mere child, who was belittling an adviser and hitting him. The young king ran to the podium in a lavish area surrounded by guards and fence, so no one might endanger the king, and he greedily grabbed the crown from the chancellor, slammed it on his head, and proclaimed loudly "I AM KING GREGORY, AND I PRONOUNCE FROM THIS DAY ON VICTORY FOR TESUX!!!!" The boy king then turned around and ran into his large white castle, and the soldiers dispersed the crowd.

Warily i found an Inn and paid a weeks worth of rent. The hour was late and i quickly retired to my room for rest. Around Mid Day the soldiers watching me busted down the door to the chamber i was renting whilst i was reading and roughly accosted me, and took me to a dungeon, i was removed of my coin, my books, writings, and my blade.

After several hours without a meal or answers, a guard told me that, by mandate of the king, all foreigners to the kingdom (i was the only one, due to the previous king, no one had wished to visit the kingdom in years) were to be detained for interrogation. After another several hours, and numerous requests for food, i was provided hardened bread and was informed that i would be interrogated by the chancellor in the morning. i laid down on the plank of wood beong suspended by the wall by some chains and uneasily, i went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning in irons, and i was marched into a perverse torture chamber. Chained to the wall i was asked numerous questions about my reason for entering the kingdom, and i was burned when i did not answer quickly enough, Finally, after an entire day, they decided i was of no threat, and i was released, my coin and books returned, and grudgingly my blade as well.

I returned to the inn and was accosted by the manager, who was angry because the soldiers would not pay to replace the door they broke down, so i reached into my coin bag and paid for the door, and another weeks worth of time with my room, his mood suddenly became apologetic, and i took another room, until the door in the other was replaced.

The next day i was awaken by soldiers, and was told i was to have an audience with the boy king, he had been told of my writings and mt knowledge, and wished to ask something of me. My blade was temporarily confiscated, i was bathed, fed and given clean cloth. When i was finally in audience with the king he was disemboweling an adviser with a twisted smirk on his face screaming that he was the king and always right.

This Boy is dangerous i thought to myself, and the world would be better off without him, but i was without my blade, so i swallowed my pride and spoke with the boy king. "I,uhhhh was, ummm told that....That you have the knowledge, duuu knowledge of match, makh, machines to, uhhh, uhhh, kill alot of outsiders" the boy king spoke as servants cleaned up the remains of the adviser. "yes..." i answered cautiously. "Build them." the king demanded... to be continued...
