4. then enjoy the feeling of being wanted that much
but don't jerk him around...it's not nice and it hurts to be on the receiving end of it.

9. I told him a million times that I like someone else in the District
and that I feel that because he is the District Chair, it probably would be a bad idea to date me. You know kind of like a minister marrying into the congregation.

24. You don't want him???
Then it's simple.

Tell him "if you think I'm doing the same to my back, you're wrong!"

25. Be straight up and tell him point blank you are not attracted to him.
Trust me, it's not bitchy. Crushing his affection quickly, like ripping off a band-aid, hurts the least.

If he's a friend, and you want it to continue, then demonstrate it by doing something fun and platonic with him soon afterwards.

3. Tell him the truth: you like him and are flattered or "I don't like you
Edited on Sat Sep-27-03 03:51 PM by roughsatori
that way--but I'm flattered." If you like him back let him take you out to dinner as a reward. In behavior modification it is wise to always pay attention to behavior you want to see more of in the subject.

I just read that you don't like him back. Be honest and polite, do not lead him on. Make it clear you are not interested. Dash his hopes with kindness.

6. Tell him its not the beard
Be nice about it but let him know that you are not interested and shaving won't win you over.

8. Where would he get that idea in the first place?
He must be shallow to even consider doing something to change his appearance for someone who doesn't give a romantic rats ass.

12. I had a former boyfriend
ask me to trim his mustache. Even though I told him I never did it before, he insisted. I was doing OK until the tip of the scissors snip his upper lip. I never realized how much a lip could bleed.

BTW, he never asked again. Go figure.

22. Just do what my wife does...
tell him to go to a barber and get it done professionally. It would look much better in the long run. Beards have to be "trained" into proper growth and an amateur could mess it up badly.

It worked for her. :)

27. That's the FIRST warning signal
Anyone who wants you to do something like that is manipulative and controlling, or childish, or maybe all 3. Tell him 'no' as nicely as you can and the RUN (do NOT walk) as fast as you can in the opposite direction! :)
