Listening to "The Inner Mystique" right now (their second album). One of the great lost bands of the sixties in my opinion...I had the opportunity to see them at the Little Steven fest this past summer, and they still are incredible!
And they do a couple of GREAT songs in the movie "Riot On Sunset Strip".
Any other fans???

3. Didn't rain until way after their set... |

They did "Let's Talk About Girls" "Are You Gonna Be There (At the Love In", and "Don't Need Your Lovin'".
The great thing about the fest, is that the sixties bands played so damned HARD! My faves were all 60's originals, the Chocolate Watchband, the Electric Prunes (who were echoplexing like CRAZY!!!) and of course The Stooges (who were better than I could have hoped, and considering they're my favorite band of all time, is saying a LOT!).
The fest is supposed to be released as a movie this year called 3-D Rocks...it was filmed in 3-D (?!) and directed by Chris Columbus (who did the first two Harry Potter films). I can't wait!!!

If you get a chance, go see ? and the Mysterians. I saw them at the Empty Bottle here in Chicago about three years ago and they rocked so hard the place was about to explode. Rudy, who is now legally named ?, still looks about 25. He must be 55, but he has more energy than I did in my 20s. It was like seeing the Stones in a small club.
I saw the Stooges in Detroit last summer (well, Pontiac...), the show that is on the DVD, and it was ferocious too. And the Stooges are my all-time favorite band too.
And have you ever heard the Undertones' version of Let's Talk About Girls?

5. I've been wanting to see them! |
|
I read a review a couple of years ago on the Norton Records site...I've really been wanting to see them, but they don't come up to the northeast too much...hopefully someday!
And nope, never heard the Undertones version of the song...I love the Undertones though (RIP John Peel!).

"Voyage Of The Trieste" is cool, but for pure 60s angst, I like "I'm Not Like Everybody Else."
