Times Square for New Year's Eve - Anyone?
I did last year for the first and last time, but checked that Life Block!

So I'm available to talk you out of it :silly:

1. No way
I steer clear of Times Square on New Year's Eve.
Not worth the hassle. If I'm going to get penned in, I want it to be for something political.
Past few years it's been too damn cold anyway.
This year the weather might be nice, but just the same I don't think so.
I've gone into the crowd on the East River for 4th of July fireworks, that's got a better payoff.

2. Way! LOL......
Last year was a NIGHTMARE of Factory Farmed Animal proportion, only because I think the 14,000 newly graduated police on duty that night, who were giving this gig as their first O'fishal duty, would have used captive bolt guns if they had them?

We were almost crushed to death, despite we got there 6 hours EARLY, still got only as close as Carnegie Hall, about 14(?) blocks away. And I was paying premium room rates for a hotel just a block away! I had my special needs adult child with me, so thought it would be convenient! D'oh.

I would love to do 4th of July in NYC :)

4. It seems like something you need to do once
Are you suggesting that I leave that box unchecked?

5. Did it once when I was little -- my fam. had just got out of a show, we
were swept down the street. It was amazing but scary.

9. I understand "scary"
...even as an adult experiencing it for the first time!

It's not for the claustrophobic or those who must urinate often, the PO-lice won't even let you take a bathroom break ! Sure they'll let you out of your assigned pen, but you can never come back :::sigh:::

6. In my youth
We did it my second year of college. Twenty guys and girls freezing our asses off, but drinking bottles of champaign and wiskey.
We had a great time. I don't think I would ever do it again.

11. We went in the port-os
They used to set them up every block or so. I think they do not anymore.

13. Not last year....
...we were told if we left "our pen" we'd have to back to the end of the security line, which was Central Park !

7. No Way
I live just a hop, skip and a jump from Times Square and I've never been and have no intentions. Rather be home with the people I love watching TV and just having an old-fashioned good time.
