Poll question: DOGMA - Who's your favorite character?
You've seen it by now (or you should have). Now vote! (Or nominate your own if he/she isn't listed...)

31. Another great Rickman performance: Rasputin
Alan Rickman as Gregori Rasputin and Ian McKellan as Tsar Nicholas. Great, but alas under-exposed, movie.

29. One of the most unappreciated movies ever
and one of my all time favorites.
Incredible cast:
Kevin Kline, Harvey Keitel, Rod Steiger, Susan Sarandon, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Danny Aiello and Alan Rickman

Plus the interesting architecture two locations of the old 1st Precinct on Front St and the Mercer Building on Lafayette. Some of my favorite scenes are the way Office Cone slowly, agonizingly feeds information to Danny Aiello's character.

An intelligent, funny, well shot and well acted thriller.

3. Isn't that the greatest movie ever!!???
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 12:27 PM by BrklynLiberal
Watched it again (for the 12th time, I think) last night on Comedy Central!!) Very difficult to pick a favorite character..They are all so great. I am a great fan of Alan Rickman, and he was great as the voice of God, Alanis Moirisette! George Carlin? Carrie Fisher as the nun? it was just too good to describe. One has to see it several times to appreciate it to its fullest.

5. Bought the Special Edition DVD last night
And watched it uncut and uncensored! Including the Golgothan. My only regret was that I didn't have room in the poll for him...

32. RU saying U want a peace of me?
Put up your dudes, I mean dukes.
Others nominated Cardinal Glick and the Golgothan, so why signal me out for your dismissive disparagements?
I think it stinks of some anti-Garofaloan conspiracy, I do.
I know just how to protect myself from that.

I'd have voted for the woman who did the spit-take in the elevator, but it wasn't my poll. :P

27. Buddy Christ!
Edited on Fri Dec-31-04 03:43 AM by Kire
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now we all know how the majority and the media in this country view the Catholic church. They think of us as a passe, archaic institution. People find the Bible obtuse... even hokey. Now in an effort to disprove all that the church has appointed this year as a time of renewal... both of faith and of style. For example, the crucifix. While it has been a time honored symbol of our faith, Holy Mother Church has decided to retire this highly recognizable, yet wholly depressing image of our Lord crucified. Christ didn't come to Earth to give us the willies... He came to help us out. He was a booster. And it is with that take on our Lord in mind that we've come up with a new, more inspiring sigil. So it is with great pleasure that I present you with the first of many revamps the "Catholicism WOW. " campaign will unveil over the next year. I give you... The Buddy Christ. Now that's not the sanctioned term we're using for the symbol, just something we've been kicking around the office, but look at it. Doesn't it... pop? Buddy Christ..
