1. By "election champagne," do you mean absinthe? (n/t)

3. We drank it on our wedding anniversary
When we got married 4 years ago, we still didn't know who the president was going to be. Unfortunately this year, we knew it was going to be Bush again. :(

5. Ha ha, you know it!
Ours is still sitting there too under the moldy bread, mocking me.

And the one I took to work--evening shift--is still there too. At some point during that awful shift I think I tried to make a weak case for drinking it anyway--"Well....um...Obama won, yay!"--but we wound up going to the 4 AM bar instead afterward. They had two TVs on CNN: one of them had the newscasters' faces green, the other bright orange, and I thought, well, if we're going to be getting shitty news like this we might as well hear it from Oompa Loompas. The bartender was furious and was giving out shots like our plane was going down. So I spent Wednesday crying *and* puking.

6. We, like silly fools, actually believed JK would win...
believed somehow THIS one would work, everything would be fine, we would somehow beat the cheating bastards....bought the champagne that day, giddy all day, then saw Zogby's fnal prediction, more giddiness ensued...but all the laughter stopped, tears/hysteria/anger took hold...and the mourning began.

We will only drink a toast to seeing this most horrific of years GO.
