DVD authoring with a secondary audio track
I want to create a DVD with two separate audio tracks (which the user can select) and one video track - you know, like a regular DVD with a director's commentary.

I'm using Vegas, but I haven't figured a way to do it yet. Is it possible? If not is there another program that will do it?

Any tips would be apprecaited!

david

P.S. what about subtitles...

1. Adobe Encore DVD
Adobe Encore DVD does multiple audio tracks and subtitles. The BIG problem (and the reason I have not bought it yet) is that it is priced at $549. I can see spending that kind of money if this was my line of business but for me it is purely a hobby and it is hard to justify spending that kind of money. (Currently I'm using Sonic MyDVD which is cheap, but pretty lame and doesn't have any of the features you are looking for).

See http://www.adobe.com/products/encore/main.html

2. Thanks!
Damn! That is expensive, though. My wife is a teacher so maybe I can find an academic version. I hate that so much of this stuff is priced for professionals, when I just want to use it as a hobby.

Hmmmmmm... I had been using shareware stuff like TMPengc or whatever it's called, but moved to Vegas because I figured it should work for that. So far the shareware stuff has been great.

Okay, I'll poke around some more... Thanks again!

4. That looks like a great deal!
Almost too good to be true....

But since your wife is a teacher you should qualify for the (huge) academic discount, for example, from

(I was quite excited when I found this site until I realized that it was for academic purchases only)
