2. I'd say that is accurate, |
|
Because having skill at something usually goes hand in hand with deserving respect (of peers, etc.) and I think many women find that something that is attractive. I'd say most women want a man they can be proud of! (Prowess is maybe too strong a word, but it comes to mind...)

3. If a man doesn't have any skills to be proud of |
|
he will probalby feel depressed and worthless and won't be fun to be around. Yes, the skills are important, but it's the mental attitude that goes with them that makes the man attractive.

4. Girls want a partner they can depend on. |
|
Someone who doesn't drink 24/7.
Someone who never physically, mentally, or psychologically torments a girl (or a dog, for that matter).
Someone who can work for a living (inside and/or outside the home).
Someone who doesn't come visiting with a new STD every week.
Someone who doesn't live with their parents past age 25. (Applies to men making good money only.)
I'm speaking from experience, because I hae dated all of the above! :puke:
As for skill sets, the only one that ever mattered all that much to me was a man with a slow hand, if you get my meaning. (wink, wink)

5. If you're looking for a slow hand |
|
Then perhaps someone with bowhunting skills would be in order. They have to be slow, steady, and accurate.

yes, he is right. those skills are not only impressive but require dedication. and, as an added bonus other 'skills' or 'talents' emerge from learning these skills that could be used skillfully, beneficially in other areas. ;-)
(i would date napolean dynamite- he makes me laugh)
welcome to DU, ShinerTX! good to have you with us.

11. Skills trump looks. Definitely. We like to be impressed. |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-30-04 05:04 PM by tjdee
Doesn't even have to be a "great" skill.
I'm talking guitar playing, or cooking, or being a good conversationalist. Skills imply passion, and passion is attractive.
Just like men, I'd imagine. *on edit: Actually, I know that some hetero men don't care if a pretty girl can do anything else but breathe. I mean, breathing's a skill, right? :eyes: *

i think i may have met some of those men. breathing could be considered a skill, i guess. if done with style you'll really attract the fellows; a pout, widening of the eyes on the exhale, etc. :-)

I wouldn't say 'only'. Some girls want other stuff, but mainly yes they want someone with confidence and ability in something. Those are all pretty limited... for me intellecutal skills and communication skills are way more impressive than bowhunting or whatever.
And welcome to DU, fellow Texan! :hi:
