My Wife is the World's Greatest Cook!!!
She just made a HUGE pot of spaghetti sauce and meatballs. The meatballs are over two inches in diameter and are made from 3 pounds of ground beef, one pound of ground pork, and one pound of ground turkey.

3. But what about the itallian sausage?
Hot I.S. works wonders on Italian dishes! She should give it a try sometime!

(Pardon me while I try to remove the drool from between my keys now...)

5. I love big meatballs!
Everybody in my family makes 1 or 1.5 ounce meatballs. They suck. I use the big ice cream scoop. Then I fry them until I get a good crust and throw them in the sauce to simmer.

Yum!

If you want to have some fun, try using homemade cheese asaigo bread for the crumbs.

7. Bread made with Asiago cheese (misspelled)
We have a Panera bread store in our area. I stole their recipe and made my own bread. It makes wonderful bread crumbs for meatballs.

It makes great toast too.

10. We Used a Trick The Princess Saw On "30 Minute Meals"...
...with Rachael Ray.

Put the meatballs on a cookie sheet or shallow pan, and bake at 450 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. They brown on all sides.

8. Wrong!!
I am the world's greatest cook. The reason?? So far as I know, I am the only person still living who cooks in lard and bacon grease.

Your envy doesn't bother me.

13. We all
gotta die, sometime. The goal in life is not to arrive at the grave in an attractive and well-preserved corpse' but to slide in sidewise, chocolate in one hand and martini in the other, body used up, yelling, "WHOO HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!!"

That's not original with me, but I don't know who to attribute it to. Still, it sums up what I think about it, pretty well.

Cheers

17. It's good, and
if you add enough lard to "boil" the egg in it, it comes out perfect. With bacon, and lard biscuits with gobs of butter on them. I may die young, but I WILL die happy.

20. You know
it's funny, I don't cook sausage gravy much. When I eat it, I get it at Hardees. I'll have to do something about that. Thanks for the suggestion. What I generally do with biscuits is honey or home-made fig preserves (Mama has a HUGE fig tree) I have to hustle to beat the birds when they're ready. I also like occassional real maple syrup. Or Golden Eagle Syrup, a local Alabama brand.

When I do make gravy for biscuits (well, in this case, it's actually my wife) it's red-eye gravy, i.e., grease from a country (salt-cured) ham and coffee.

You've made me hungry. I'm going to fix myself a corn-beef sandwich, maybe a Reuben if I have any sauerkraut. I like to brown the bread in a skillet with a little olive-oil, then flip and put the cheese on to melt a little.
