The store I work at has allowed me to buy some CD's to play during business hours. They will let me buy 5, so I need some recommendations for some cool, hip, but soothing music that would be good in a trendy boutique. I will be re-imbursed. Obviously, Eminem is out, but what would my fellow DUers recomend?...I made a copy of my new fav CD by Debra Falconer, who is fabulous. I stole it from a friend of mine:P.

Either of the two Shins albums. Cool, not loud or brash, soothing, and "offensive" lyrics.

The cd "Give Up" is amazing (I've already pimped it out to others on DU). But it is great.

6. Isn't she Robert Downey Jr's ex-wife? |

Just wondering....I don't have any CD suggestions for you.
Actually, the Scissor Sisters are kind of cool. Sort of Elton John meets the Bee Gees meets Supertramp.

I'll have to listen to some of those other bands, but as you can see from my post I definitely love the Postal Service.
Hmm, guess I'll have to go to the record store.. doesn't hurt that the cool boys hang out there :)
