My dogs just don't understand cappilary action. |
|
I have three dogs. In their house I have a nice comfy piece of foam, and to keep that somewhat clean I put an old comforter in on top of the foam. It looked like rain yesterday so I tucked the comforter into the house so it wouldn't get wet. But for some reason they always manage to leave a foot or three of the blanket outside of the house. Right now, it's raining like a mofo and I'm worried that cappilary action could cause them all to get soaked. Why are dogs so dumb? If they could vote, I'd worry.
Preemptive edit: If it were my house I'd bring 'em inside. But it's not my house, or even my dogs, actually. I just take care of them. Somebody has to, right?

embarrassment of pointing out that I misspelled 'capillary'. Here's a nice little cartoon that demonstrates the principle: http://arcweb.medialighieri.it/english/capillarita.htmDip a paper towel into a glass of water and the water will "climb" onto the paper towel. In fact, it will keep going up the towel until the pull of gravity is too much for it to overcome.

4 out of 5 of my favorite pastimes involve the word 'slippery' in some manner or fashion.
