After standing for 6 hrs - I was able to see the Cubs win the NL Central! |
|
'Was only able to get "standing room" so 'stood on a ramp (great view of the field) from noon til after 6pm but it was worth it - what a game. The crowd was so nice and enthusiastic - everyone "high fiving" and jumping up and down and hugging and screaming - what a win!!! Go Cubs!!!!

God, I wish I was there. I've been a Cubs fan all my life and now I'm in Portland, Oregon, while the Cubs are doing amazing things in Wriggleyville. Damnit!
I screamed like a maniac in my car when I heard that they swept the double-header.
The Braves had better watch out. We're coming again, and it ain't 1998 and we ain't no wild-carders.

As a true south-sider, rooting for the Cubs is like voting for a repuke.

4. Now they will have to face my SF Giants....to get any further... |

I predicted the Cubs winning their division back in January, when they got Dusty Baker...my son (also a Giant fan) laughed, said they had no hitting besides Sosa, etc. etc... I told him it doesn't matter Baker will take them to a division title this year...he started talking (back in Jan.) about St Louis and Houston being better, etc. I said it doesn't matter Baker's that good, he'll have the Cubs winning the Division, (in their first year, probably second or third place next year, but first place this year) so he bet me...HAHaHa! I'm from SF and It will be a good play-off series...Giants should win home field advantage.

6. They have to get past the Braves first |
|
They're actually playing the Braves for this round.
I'm a little spooked because they were swept by the Braves in 1998. The Cubs are a much better team this year than they were in 98, though. This should be a squeaker, but I'm counting on the Cubbies to win it.
