My wife asked me to be in the ballet thing with her this year
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 03:32 AM by MichaelHarris
I told her, "Go to the bedroom, get your tights. Take them to the kitchen and put 32 gallons of cottage cheese in them. Now ask yourself do you wanna see me in tights?"

I got out of ballet classes quick.

1. With a little work, this could be you! Give the wife a break.

4. she was in the ballet
thing at U of I last week in the Christmas Carol, I had to go to that. I go to all of her performances because it's the right thing to do. I have to be honest though, ballet would be better if it had zombies in it.

5. Here you go, the corp de ballet by George Romero.

These characters would make ballet more tolerable (along with a bottle of Jack in a brown paper bag).

6. I like the way you refer to it as "the ballet thing"
Makes me chuckle. I've been trying to get my hubby to take some kind of dance class with me - preferably ballroom dancing. All I've gotten so far are a lot of wise cracks and quizzical looks. I don't have the heart to pull out all the stops and cry - it's not THAT important to me and I don't really think that's fair... Though I'd go to an Oakland Raiders football game with him and I can't imagine anything more boring than that...

7. Me too!
The ballroom dancing thing, that is. He always has an excuse - for years it was his Master's degree work, or one of us is always at a new job (I'm biotech, he's computers) or we have a new dog, or work needs done on the house, etc. It especially galls me to know that he took ballroom dancing for singles before he met me! He says he only did that to meet women and now he has me so that motivation is gone. Still, one semester wouldn't kill him.

8. Tell her you'll do it only if you can wear the giant codpiece
under your tights. :)
