Blue plate special

On Thursday I learned that friends were joining us for New Year's Eve, so on Friday I muscled my cart through the crowded store, picking up snacks 'n stuff.

I was about to check out when I realized I hadn't picked up snack plates. But right there was an end aisle display of them - great. I picked up a pack of festive red plates. Then I saw there were some blue ones too. That's all they had in the display, bright red and bright blue. It was like looking at an electoral map. Well to hell with the red plates, I thought, and picked up the blue.

I couldn't have been the only one who was struck by the colors because there were only a few packs of blue and a whole lotta red. I love living in a blue plate state. :D
