Wesley Clark drives a '92 Mazda Miata
"...a cute little car, gets about 29 or 30 miles per gallon." He implied his wife had picked it out, but no word about color.

I obtained this crucial info Friday night, when C-SPAN continued to follow Clark long after he finished his speech at New England College in New Hampshire.

A woman from the audience seemed intent on holding Clark in Guantanamo if he owned an SUV. "No, I don't own an SUV."

One undeniable nicety about our '04 presidential crop is everyone has comfortable leg room in a Mazda Miata, other than John Kerry.

I'm looking for similar meaty subjects to hasten my exodus from the 700 Club.

4. Yep, I think all Miata's are manufactured in Japan
At least that's what the Mazda salesman told me several years ago when I bought a Protege.

Probably not long until the RNC digs up a tape of Clark purchasing the thing.

5. So?
What entitles an American union auto worker a job over an American union longshoreman?

6. So it's time for another post on the way to 800
Are you sure Miata's aren't flown over?

They're kind of tiny, you know, and I've never really been blown away by the Pacific.

24. I drive a Nissan
and I love it. Nissans are my favorite, they get good gas mileage, are extremely reliable and have good features. I prefer Nissans to all other cars, and both cars I have ever owned have been Nissans and their record has been great.

9. I think the Miata debuted in '89 or '90
The sporty Miatas were super hot and selling for well above retail. That's extremely rare, although the PT Cruiser followed suit a few years ago.

I remember the old Aladdin in Las Vegas having a nightly drawing to give away a new Miata for a solid month when they debuted. The place was jammed for the drawings. I was dating an employee of the Aladdin at the time and I think it was early '90.

14. FYI on this
Just some ammunition to defend against the Freepers.

Mazda is partially owned by the Ford Motor Co. All Mazda trucks are built by Ford.

18. Or all Fords are built by Mazda
The one Ford pickup I owned, in the 80's, was essentially a Mazda with a Ford label (i.e. the engine parts were all Mazda parts with a Frod label -- do they still do that?)

17. Cool, the new DU sport, GD bashing of Clark
has now jumped to the Lounge. Gotta love it, what starts, presumably, as a light-hearted fun post degenerates into more flaming, more posts of anti-Clark webpages. Keep it fun, gang.
