I joined the ranks of the uninsured today.
Fucking Touchpoint. These ass grackles have this dumbass policy that even though I'm still a full time college student, because I turn 25 on the 17th, I no longer qualify to be on my parent's insurance.

Fucking greedy bastards. I feel like writing them a serious phillipic.

3. That's a stupid fucking policy.
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 06:08 PM by JonathanChance
Why do they feel like fucking us non-trads over like this?

Yes, I am on the six year plan due to some major changes, but with consistant GPAs well over 3.2 for the past few years, I'm no slacker.

BTW, WTF is COBRA?

7. COBRA is a government policy that allows anyone
losing their insurance due to a change of status (layoff for example) to continue the group health insurance. However, YOU, are responsible for paying the premium (ALL of it NOT just the portion paid by your parents) plus a one percent administrative fee.

You should receive information about it from the insurance company. You will also receive what is called a HIPAA letter which states that you had group health insurance. This letter is VERY important because if you want to get individual insurance you will need it to keep from being screwed over any pre-existing conditions you may have.

4. I'm planning on doing so.
Fortunatley I'm not involved in any intermural sports. Apparently, they make them pay a shitload more.

5. It's usually good insurance, and get the 12-month coverage.
I actually have better coverage than did when I worked for the county.

:)

6. That's what I did, too, when I was in college

And it was resonable, too. I think I paid somewhere around $200 a quarter for an 80/20 plan. I payed for it as a part of my tuition which was covered by student loans. It helped me out a great deal as I have to take prescription drugs that ammount to about $320 a month.

8. MOST insurance companies cut kids off at 21
To be insured as a full time student to age 25 at this time is generous.
