Observation from the fat kid that had no athletic ability and was always
picked last. Has anyone else like me noticed that most of the jocks are now fat slobs who sit and stuff their face and watch sports on TV today.

5. Right, not all but most of them. They complain of bad backs, knees,
shoulders etc. Watch any football game they are the ones with their shirts off and letters painted on their bellies.

3. When I went to my 20th high school reunion I noticed this.

All the nerdy kids (like me) had turned out pretty well, were mostly successful and looked pretty good, but the former athletes and cheerleaders had gone to seed. The obnoxious former cheerleader-beauty queen who wouldn't give us geeky kids the time of day back in 12th grade had become, shall we say, chunky, and the "fast" girl looked like an old madam. It was very gratifying.

8. Mine too- but chunky is putting it too nice....
I was in a very small class (32) of the 2 big jock the showed, well one was pot bellied and bald & divorced, still has social skills of a 16 year old, and other looks about the same- but had polished his 16 year old BS "how ya doing" skills- man, his wife looked like she was both bored and wanted to kill him.

"former cheerleader-beauty queen"- (at least she thought she was!)was fat, divorced from 2nd or 3rd, alone, and STILL had hair like Loni Anderson on WKRP! Worst she was talking bad about other girls there, who were her friends in school.

The really strait, good student valedictorian is now a new age massage therapist/healer something.

Fat un-athletic kid was still fat, other was dead. Sorry.

I was the cool, rocker, car, guy- shop, art 3, biology 2, data processing. Long hair, drove a 67 GTO, in '83, and got the highest score on both SAT and ACT test, in my class. 6 classes senior year, 3 E's (A's in most schools) and 3 M's (C's? just enough to pass) 'cause I was forced to take MF'ing typing II and accounting II!

4. Yes. And not only that, they're fat, face-stuffing slobs who are
boring and, shall we say "personality-challenged" because they were so busy being jocks, they didn't bother to grow intellectually or emotionally. They have been has-beens since graduation. Kind of sad, really.

6. YES!
Its true.
In school,I was among the "picked last".
Now, I'm almost 50, female, and very few can beat me at arm wrestling. Hardly any can keep up with me on a cross country trek. Rare is the one who can buck more bales, shear more sheep, and dance their feet off afterwards.
All true.
And for what its worth, I, uh, look pretty good too. No. Really!
Okay , just wait. I'll dig up a photo.

The only jocks that didn't turn into blobbo useless fucks doing third-tier professional jobs like seeling insurance or being brokers, are the jocks were students first, jocks second.

But the jocks who were only jocks - and the cheerleaders and other "popular" type girl-whores - they're all living wasted little nothing lives as fat nothings with no taste in hair style, clothing, makeup, or home decorating, and who either try to spend their way to glory or simply don't have jobs that pay enough to even compete any more.

I wouldn't be surprised if the jock guys are all forcing their children into sports, just like their failed useless broker/insurance salesman fathers forced them, trying to find the glory they lost by forcing their children to relive the utopian parental lives that never were.

Fuck the jocks and the "popular" girl-whores. I always knew they'd amount to nothing and that I would surpass them. And, lo and behold, I was more right than I thought I would be.

9. You are so right on. I high-tailed it out of my hometown before
I turned 18. I moved back in the 90's for a few years, it was nice, seeing my best friends from school-I'll always love them-but all they can talk about is the same small town gossip they were
blahblahblah-ing twenty years ago. NOTHING has changed, while there is so much happening around the world they cannot find anything more interesting to gab about than who is sleeping with who(m?), who's getting divorced, who's getting botox, who's kids are brats? Who the hell cares??? I guess it's kind of insulating if you choose that kind of life, but as many times as I think I would love to numb my mind from all the suffering in the world, I really don't. I didn't drink the kool-aid then and I won't drink it now.

10. I am glad to hear other people think this way besides myself..

I have noticed this more and more as I get older (going on 57). I was hoping it wasn't just bitterness on my part for the way I was treated as a kid. For the most part I am healthier and in better shape than 95% of those assholes. I have noticed too that a lot of them are into insurance and sales jobs and also most are Repugs that want to go and kick butt all the time, while they got deferments because of bad knees and such themselves.

11. I transferred to my high school in a small town and I was
really turned off by all the cliques. I hate all labels and I have always resented being labeled. Many of my schoolmates actually got frustrated because I wouldn't join one group and stick with it. I was in the brainiac classes but I had friends that were jocks, nerds, farmer-kids, townies, stoners and even a cheerleader or two. High school is so cruel and I don't think it's gotten any easier for the sensitive kids.

12. I think I was in one of the oddest classes
ever to graduate from my high school. the Jocks were some of the funniest, nicest people in my class. I never knew any of them well, being a nerd, but a lot of them were best friends with greasers, and nerds. It was a class of 250 kids, and I still don't get it.
