1. Because you're not a democrat unless you hate other democrats.
C'mon, that's just a rule. :)

Then when the real campaign starts, ya shut yur trap and cheer for whoever's on stage!

18. Yep. We do seem to be our own worst enemies.
But, that's because we're individuals and free thinkers. We also love to argue. Wouldn't change it for the world.

22. True, but...
I found myself complaining during this past election, because I couldn't say a single thing about Kerry that wasn't pure praise and glowing admiration. I was all "What are becoming, Republicans? Where our candidate is the divine, unquestionable, perfect choice? And we are to do nothing but get in formation and support them blindly?"

Oy. I guess I got my wish now, didn't I? I take it back! Give me the 2004 faux unity any day!

25. True, Placebo...
But Kerry DID seem perfect compared to shrubigula. Besides, if Kerry were rightfully allowed to have all the votes people cast for him in this election, he would be President and we would have found something about him to bitch about by the time he was inaugurated.........we're Democrats, remember?

regarded with alot of suspicion, even if they just agree with everyone.

14. say something like you don't believe Bush was wired during the debates
and watch some fur fly... eventually a mod had to intervene when some guy was trying to convince me that a line in Bush's jacket was a receiver.

13. It happens to all of us, NoodleBoy
It was insinuated that I was a troll when I had 100 posts and when I had 4000 posts. Sometimes if you have an opinion that isn't to someone's liking you'll get called a troll no matter how many posts you have.

them, replying to something: "that coming from someone who calls themself 'NoodleBoy!' hua hua hua!"

me: "wow, you're right, your argument that my name is NoodleBoy has made me completely abandon my position and adopt yours! hallelujah!"

23. Yeah that's just immature
When things get too rough out there in the serious forums come on down to the lounge and seek refuge with us. I'm semi-retired from the serious, political forums. They're just too heavy for me nowadays.

11. I think people are still upset about the election and are taking it out...
...on other people. I did that for a couple of weeks until I got ahold of myself and apologized. Personally, I don't like to fight.

:(

Thoughtful discourse is good, but flame wars accomplish very little. I try not to click on flamebait, but occasionally I do. Not fun.

in the GD: Politics

Hillary for President thread...it's the seed of a huge flame war...I think if I go back, I'll end up saying stuff I shouldn't.

"Hillary is no Democrat." Alrighty! :eyes:

...donated to the survivors of the Asian tsunami" thread, one person got all biblical on my ass and said we shouldn't advertise our giving. Hehe. Me? I wanted it to be a reminder to people and a way to consolidate our feelings and share them with the victims of the tragedy.
