What does my avatar mean to you?
I know what it means to me, but I was wondering why DU selected it. Is it because of the new book the DaVinci Code?

2. My take is that it is often used a symbol for that dreaded disease
"secular humanism", and the related scourge of "rational thought".

3. VITRUVIAN MAN on planning of temples
Now the navel is naturally the exact centre of the body. For if a man lies on his back with hands and feet outspread, and the centre of a circle is placed on his navel, his figure and toes will be touched by the circumference. Also a square will be found described within the figure, in the same way as a round figure is produced. For if we measure from the sole of the foot to the top of the head, and apply the measure to the outstretched hands, the breadth will be found equal to the height, just like sites which are squared by rule.

8. The cover of a book.
Time/Rand McNally "Atlas of the Body," c. 1980.

It gives no reference to the art on the cover. It never occurred to me to wonder where the art came from. So...when I see it, I think of the dusty old book over on the shelf.
