Has anybody read Collapse by Jared Diamond? |
|
Collapse by Jared Diamond or his previous book Guns, Germs, and Steel? I was browsing Borders and saw this on the shelf. Wondering how it is...

....Guns, Germs, and Steel is wonderful and interesting.
If you are interested in how peoples came to be where they are and why, this book is a must read. Fascinating how simple the reasons are why one group was able to thrive, able to dominate another group, migrate successfully to other areas, or create civilizations. A lot of it interestingly comes down to what plants and animals were available to a fledgling settlement.....

EXCELLENT and very thought provoking. Read part of "the third chimpanzee", but got really depressed by it, so I had to put it down.
