6. Yeah. Since "Domestic Violence" became a national issue...
I was surprised that people still laugh and think the show is funny that a husband so often threatens his wife with physical battery, as well as verbal abuse. I found the show 'not funny' in the 50's, and even more troublesome now. (Though maybe if I was a guy, I wouldn't notice the 'battery' issue as much...and just focus on the story-lines.)

Though I did like Art Carney as an actor...particularly in most of his later projects. He had an incredible acting 'range.

11. A wonderfully perceptive and empathic comment. Thanks for seeing
and relating those thoughts so clearly. As a child I did not see all the implications of the sketches. Mostly I just did not think they were interesting or funny.

3. Art Carney.
He was also great in 'Harry and Tonto', one of the few movies that has ever made me cry.

5. Me too
The show would not have been a success without Ed Carney. Maybe my favorite line was when he was learning how to play golf. The book said to address the ball. So he looked down and said, "Hello, ball."

9. It's a Dance....
Goes with a song called "Do the Hucklebuck". Norton was teaching Ralph to dance to it one night. Norton looked like a pecking rooster--laughed so hard I fell off the couch.

10. One of the funniest comedy teams in any age or format
Art Carney was a joy to watch. It is still just as good today as it was then.
