Wine and chocolate taste like vomit!
I just ate piece of chocolate and sipped some wine afterward. Yuck!!!!! :puke:

Remind me not to do that again.

1. Oh, my dear, you should have Cognac or good whiskey with dark chocolate
And savor it!

2. Chocolate and menthol cigarettes are excellent
Edited on Sat Jan-01-05 09:35 PM by Droopy
I used to get some chocolate and eat some of it without drinking anything and then smoke a menthol cigarette. It makes the cigarette smoke taste even better than it normally does.

3. you needed a sweet wine
I assume you drank a dry wine, but a sweet wine goes well with chocolate.

5. Dark Chocolate and a good Cabernet are excellent together.
You have to have the primo stuff in order for it taste really good, though.

12. No wonder.

Merlot normally has that heavy, oak taste--it would not be good with chocolate. Blech!

Chocolate is much better with a lighter/dry red wine or a white wine. It's great with chardonnay. We had some chocolate and a light red on the dinner table on Christmas. The chocolate and the wine went very fast. (My daughter's boyfriend brought the wine.)

The red we had Christmas evening was Cabernet. It was very good with chocolate.

and a prev poster mentioned A good Cab-definitely a good thing. A Sauterne, which is a dessert wine, also goes well with Godiva!

17. You mean "wine and chocolate TASTES like vomit"?

Really depends on the chocolate and wine combo you come up with, as others have pointed out.

personally, I don't do wine and chocolate together. I prefer a port or a cognac or armagnac or just milk with the chocolate.
