Civil War looming for America?
Titor's description of events between 2000 and 2036 effectively describes World War III and two decades of recovery.

He claims that the seeds of this conflict will begin to be seen in 2004/2005 around the time of U.S. presidential election, 2004. Continuing Muslim/Jewish tensions are still a problem at that time but are not the cause; instead, an American civil war is brought on by increasingly intrusive police state tactics more or less resembling the massacres at Waco and Ruby Ridge. The "second civil war" sees those in the cities fighting those in rural areas (Titor fought on the rural forces, joining a "shotgun militia" when he was 13).

The civil war is effectively ended by Russia in 2015 when it commences nuclear warfare on most major US cities, eliminating the federal government and thereby securing a 'victory' for the rural forces. Most major urban areas in the world are also hit by nuclear weapons in tit-for-tat retaliation. Europe, Africa and Australia are particularly badly hit in this regard and, Titor claims, are decimated as approximately three billion people die worldwide.

1. Look on the Bright Side,
At least the Nuclear Winter will offset Global Warming.

I cam make predictions too.
* A celebtrity will die sometime in 2005.
* We are ALL going to die! (just not at the same time...)
* A mad cow will be found somewhere in the world (mad I say!)
* There will be a great outrage in 2005.
* Bin Laden will make another video saying, "No. Really. THIS time you'll all be sorry! I mean it! Don't make me turn this car around!"
* Major news stories will break out all year.
* The "War of the Worlds" movie will be cool. (summer 2005)

3. Before Nov 2 I would have said yes
Now I say no. I feel there is such intense apathy and fear of the implications of such an action that it will not happen until things become very much worse.

Someone prepared a flyer which was passed by me for approval today, prior to printing. On it there was a statement "WE WILL INTERVENE". I looked at that, rolled my eyes, and thought "yeah, you and what army?"

It's just not there (the passion and determination to act). I even saw a poster in DU a day or so back state "I'm a lover, not a figher." Fine, so am I. But at some point you roll up your sleeves, and need to move to other options. I don't think enough people are there, or even close to it. I'd be interested in other opinions, and am not so sure this should'nt be a GD discussion instead of Lounge.
