...I didn't with my dad. I miss him. My daughters and I did spend some time with him, but not enough.

Someone I loved greatly died a year ago. I didn't spend enough time with him, because - because cancer is awful, and I lacked courage. I really regret not having courage. Dig deep.

I remember when I was told the same thing about my mum...I moved in with her for awhile and cared for her until the end. It was devastating..but also wonderful gift, to spend her last days with her (2 short months). We became closer than I could ever have imagined, felt feelings that I never thought I had, and had all those conversations that we wouldn't have had otherwise.

I hope you can share his last days. It's a very intense and emotional time, but it's so important to be there.
