4. I think both of you are giving AZ to much credit
Sure they beat the Packers, but they blown a coverage on second down which allowed the Tight End to get open, Brett Farve just didn't see him. Anyways, they lost alot of talent by relasing their best players, Marcel Shipp is a much better back then Emmitt Smith but unfortanately he gets little playing time. Adrian Wilson and Dexter Jackson look promising, but they are the second youngest and inexperienced team in the NFL. I expect a big win for the Rams at home in the Edward Jones Dome.

3. Mine
KC over Baltimore Preist Holmes will baptize the Ravens defense

Buffalo over Philly, the Bills defense is scary

Carolina over Atlanta, the D-line for the Panthers will shut out the run, force ATL to go one demontional which is how the Panthers started 2-0.
Greenbay over Chicago, expect the Bear killer Brett Farve to have a big game against Chicago

Cleveland over Cinncy, it will be sturggle for both teams but I think the Browns can come up ahead.

Denver over Detroit, a dynamic offense with an amazing defense, they haven't allowed a team to score over 17 points and I don't expect Harrington with 6 interceptions at Mile High to change that.

Jacksonville over Texas, Texas is still a young, inexperinced expansion team. I think they caught the Phins of guard but they won't against the Jags.

SF over Minnesota, the Viks most likely won't have Culpepper and San Francisco won't have a repeat peformance of last week, SF will win, I guarantee it.

Ind over NO, Peyton Manning, Edgerring James, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, and a tough defense, 'nuff said.

The Jets, I just don't see them loosing to the Cowboys.

San Diego over Oakland, Oakland seems to have the same super bowl hangover the Rams had last year, they just aren't the same team this year.

Tennesse over Pittsburgh, a very good defense, also they are lead with a tough as nails quarterback with a strong arm and quick feet.

St. Louis over Arizona, Arizona is my second or first favorite team, but I just don't see them beating the Rams. Anquan Boldin looks great but they just gave up too much talent in the off season this year. Boston, Lassiter, Plummer to name a few.

New England over Washington, I think the 'Skins luck will run out, Tom Brady can get the job done for the Patriots and they do have a good defense.

5. Are you counting the points or just straight up winning?
If you are counting points, I don't think Cleveland is going to cover against Cincy. I see that being a very close game with Cleveland pulling it out by a couple. If you are not counting points, I don't think Detroit can win against Denver. They lost against Cincy in the pre-season. I don't know if Denver can cover the spread, though. Also, from what I've heard, San Diego just plain sucks this season. I look for the Raiders to win in a blow-out.

6. Denver can cover the spread
Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 12:04 PM by VermontDem2004
To be real effective against the spread you need a linebacker core with speed and awareness which is what the Broncos defense has. The Denver Defense is great, they only allowed 11.0 ypg, 70.3 rypg, and 192.7 pypg. Plus Harrington has 6 int's on the year and with Detroit's inability to protect the QB he will have atleast a couple more. The Denver linebackers are probaly the third best in the NFL with the Ravens linebackers ranked #1, the Bucs LB's at #2. I wouldn't say any NFL Team sucks, you have no idea what it takes to even be good enough to be on an NFL's team Roster. They have great talent and a great RB, Kwamie Lassiter was huge pickup for SS, David Boston has been suspended and won't play. It is a tough call but I think San Diego can win, but it won't be a blowout.
