How many DVDs do you own?
I own close to 100, and I haven't bought a VHS tape in a loooong time. The VCR is still hooked up, but I never use it.

How 'bout you? :)

1. I have no idea. A lot!

3. Between 150 and 200
I also have probably 50-60 movies on VHS (a few movies I have on both).

The vCR is currently on the top shelf of my closet in a box though.

Since I got the digital surround system and the better TV, the VHS tapes just don't look or sound good anymore, I spoiled myself :)

4. A lot
I need to do a new inventory since I got a lot of new ones in the past few months, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's close to 250 by now.

5. Between 150 and 200 including TV shows
like X Files and Star Trek TOS....

I did not buy VHS tapes like this. I always thought they were too expensive for what you got...just a movie? With DVDs you get so much on many of them.

6. Up to five...
far less than I would own, if the chimp had maintained a Clinton Policy-based economy.

7. I don't even own a DVD player
When the recorders with built-in hard disks are under $300, I'll buy one. Until then, the VCR works fine.

13. If anyone wants to catalog his/her DVD library on the web
Edited on Sun Jan-02-05 06:30 PM by Tummler
Try DVD Aficionado:
http://www.dvdaficionado.com/index.html

It has its faults, but it's web-based, free, and easy to use.

Here's my humble collection (1344 titles owned, plus 17 on order; note that the total includes 52 additional hidden titles that have been designated for sale/trade and are located in a private folder):

Using cleanup methods to make the video and sound look acceptable by comparison. I loathe VHS.

Pity Betamax never made it dominant...
