Yesterday at Target I pulled into the parking space behind our favorite vehicle ..A Hummer two.
On the rear was this Huge poster thing (3ft by 4ft)that said:
"The King is coming..Are you Ready?"

He was just getting in his monster and looked at me and said "Are you Ready"

I swear, I should have just smiled but Nooooo..I had to open my mouth.
I said "Yeah..well, if he's coming, I hope his brings some gas with him"

Man O Man..He balled up his fist and gave me a look that would have melted steel. (Not that I truly care)
After I got home I thought that being these kind of folks are not all together anyway, I probably should learn to keep my big mouth shut...oh well...as I'm fond of saying ..If they can't take a joke, Screw um' :)

follow your lead. Speak up. People are always surprised when they find out we're out here. I'm tired of people making remarks to me, just assuming I share their sexist, racist, war-mongering sentiments. I don't. And I'm not going to be polite. They're so cocky now with this administration, plus hate radio, that we need to speak up.
We had a totally freeped out Comcast guy at our house a couple of weeks ago. He started in with his rightwing hatespeak and we blasted him. He said, "well, if you know history...."and he didn't. We did. He only knew a few half-truths from wingnut radio. We buried him in history. He finally shut up and did his job.
If you're confronted by a freeper, cover him/her with knowledge. They fold like cheap lawn chairs. Hateradio parroted soundbites are no match for education. Talk over their heads. Mention people they don't know. (they'll know they should know them...but they can't respond when they're bereft of knowledge). Quote Friedman, Alterman, or Krugman. Ask questions: Do you agree with the goals of the PNAC? What about the Carlyle Group?
