Most of you all have known me for a long time but on every single thread, someone has to bring faith into the picture.

Most of the old timers know me on here and I tell you what is happening...people are tuning out because of some of the intolerance of faith. There are some good people on this site and then we have some down right hatemongers here. Its turning me off.

I don't know if I'd call any of them "hatemongers" but yes, there are some pretty obnoxious people we've both probably run into. I've unfortunately paid little attention to identities (I tend to just goof around here) so I wouldn't even know if I were being stalked. :)

It saddens me that some posters here can't distinguish from the political fundamentalist far-right movement that's behind Bush, and that we all love to hate so much, and the rest of us who happen to be spiritual or religious in one way or another, be it alligned with some form of Christianity (e.g., I was raised Catholic) other major major or minor religious group (and I include agnostics and atheists here as well - both of which I deem religious in their own right, and who also deserve respect for their beliefs).

but as a Catholic (well, in some respects a renegade Catholic, especially since our poor, senile Pope started mouthing Bushisms after Dubya's visit, not to mention my disgust at the scandalous practices of Catholic priests over the decades (if not centuries) towards young boys) I tend to just see it as it was intended - as a jr. high school joke. I personally see no harm in that kind of humor. It certainly poses no threat to my beliefs, and certainly doesn't give my beliefs a "bad rap". It's just a silly juvenile joke.
