Does anybody know
How far it is from Philadelphia to Boston? I am visiting family and friends next month and was considering driving from Philly to Boston.

4. Is it mainly highway driving?
Or is it scenic?

Basically will this Texan get lost? :P

7. Right up I-95.
But, I would expect tons of traffic as you go through Metro New York.

Why drive? Take the train.

15. It's not cheap...but think of the fun of train travel.
The Acela is the "high speed" train.

You could also fly. Regional airlines have cheap flights. AirTran has round trips for about $100.

16. GOPisEvil is right
Take the train. Highway driving in the Northeast is miserable for us Texans. Imagine Houston being two hundred miles across and you'll get the picture.

10. Use MapQuest
www.mapquest.com

Enter the starting and ending addresses, and it provides turn-by-turn directions.

I tried mapquest earlier and I guess I didn't have the address's correct. I was trying to figure out about how long it would take. I've got these awesome DU'er's answering my questions though!

Thanks again!

20. The MapQuest Time Estimates Are Very Conservative
We're planning a trip to Texas in a few weeks. MapQuest said that out 730-mile trip would take over 14 hours - that worked out to an average speed of 47 MPH, and I'm sure that YOU know that Texans drive much faster than that...

:-)

5. I use Rand McNally for driving directions
It shows about 310 but this is only putting in Philadelphia to
Boston with no street address.
Give it a shot...
