Detroit scored seven runs in the sixth inning, and win five of their final six games to avoid tying the Mets' 1962 record of 40-120. The Tigs finish the season at 43-119. John Thanking God this season is over, nevertheless.

that the Twins wrapped up the division and were resting their big players for this last series!

"If you can't be good, be lucky." Look, I'm not trying to paint my Tigs as pennant contenders -- but as a lifelong fan I DID NOT want anything to do with the Mets' record. Being the Suckiest Sucks who ever Sucked in the American League is bad enough but, man, you should have seen the comeback last night. Down 8-0 in the fifth, the Tigs scored one in the bottom of the inning, three in the seventh, four in the eighth and one in the ninth (on an Alex Sanchez walk, steal of second, steal of third and Jesse Orosco wild pitch) to win 9-8. Anyhow, the Tigs season is over. Now we can turn our attention to the Lions. John Win or lose, it's still Tiger baseball.
