all forms of busy prentious type music Dream Theater just never quite clicked for me. I lean a little more towards Iluvatar or (at least the little bit I heard) Karnataka.
My all time fave though is the Silver Surfer: Joe Satriani. Satch rules, and I will brook exactly NO disagreement on that point!

Like those found in "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" or "This Is the Song That Never Ends."
Both of which manage to be more poetic AND briefer than a typical Dream Theater song.

I'm not too much of a fan of their lyrics. I don't really care, though, because their musical composition skills are beyond comprehension. :)
